Job Description:
Reporting to either the Product Lead (Development) or the Head of the Software Development Group, this job entails working across the phases of the Software Development Life Cycle in an agile environment.
The key aspects of the job will entail the following:
- Software development by studying specifications as well as preparing technical specification documents (when required) from Functional and Non-Functional Specification Documents;,
- Conferring with Business Analysts within the Implementation Consulting Group on the business requirements, functional and non-functional specifications to aid the software development effort;
- Study Systems Flow, Data Usage, and Work Processes; Investigating problem areas; following the software development lifecycle in an agile development plan;
- Undertaking software analysis, code analysis, requirements analysis, software review, identification of code metrics, system risk analysis, software reliability analysis;
- Determining operational feasibility from a software development perspective on the specifications received from the Business Analyst team;
- Beyond the operational feasibility analysis, present the findings and proposed solution to the product development team to evolve a game-plan for its incorporation;
- Ensure documentation, flowcharts, layouts, diagrams, charts, code comments and clear code in the software development life cycle;
- Responsible for tracking and improving upon the various metrics used to track the quality and timeliness of the software development effort within the team (if applicable);
- Prepares and installs solutions by determining and designing system specifications, standards, and programming.
- Ensure continuous learning and keeping oneself up to speed with the latest state-of-the-art development tools, programming techniques, and computing equipment; participating in educational opportunities whenever possible;
- Ensuring data security and confidentiality in the software development effort within the team;
- Providing feedback to the Head of Software Development by, analysing, and summarizing development and service issues;
- Conducting code reviews with team members to make sure highest standards in software development are being maintained;
- Undertaking performance tuning, improvement, balancing, usability, automation;
- Ability to fluently communicate (both written and oral) in English when required with the external customers.
Skill Set Requirement:
- VB.NET/C#/WCF /Windows Services/Winforms
- Technical documentation
- ER diagram, Process diagrams, Flow charts, High/low level design documents.
- Multithreading is mandatory
- Educational Qualifications:
- The successful candidate must possess any of the following educational qualifications as a pre-requisite:
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science or Engineering (or equivalent qualifications) from a reputed university or institution (e.g., BCA or MCA);
- Post graduation specialisation in Computer Science or Software Development from a reputed institution/university would be seen as a significant advantage;
Work Experience:
- 2-6 years programming experience using the systems, software and development to perform the job (as highlighted above);
- Experience of working across multiple software development and implementation projects simultaneously;
- Responsible and accountable for specific deliverables and timelines;
- Reporting to project/product manager on deliverables;
- Ensuring compliance with software release procedures and controls, working with the Release Manager;
- Track record for excellence and grade promotions in previous organization(s).
Other Competencies:
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (MS Word; MS Excel; MS PowerPoint) and Microsoft Projects at an Expert level;
- Excellent verbal and written English communication capabilities;
- Impressionable personality with the ability to lead and inspire others;
